Crochet Beaded Necklace and Wrap Bracelet

1. 1Stringing the beadsWithout cutting the thread from the ball, thread its end through the beading needle. String 42 beads for the necklace and 52 for the bracelet (plus a few spares) and push them down toward the ball. You'll slide the beads up to the hook one at a time as you work; if you make the pieces separately, string the beads for each piece separately.
2. 2NecklaceLeaving a 15 cm tail, make a slip knot on the hook and ch 6. Work *1 bch, ch 4* 42 times; with each repeat a bead settles onto the chain. Then ch 6 and cut the thread leaving 15 cm. The piece measures about 42 cm plus the ends.
3. 3Necklace claspPass one end through the ring of the lobster clasp and the other through the jump ring, and tie them to the last chains with several tight knots. Run the ends back through a few chains, put a drop of clear polish or glue on the knots, and trim once dry.
4. 4Wrap braceletLeaving a 15 cm tail, ch 10 and sl st into the first chain to make the button loop. Continuing from the loop, work *1 bch, ch 4* 52 times, then ch 4. Cut the thread leaving 20 cm.
5. 5ButtonSew the button firmly to the last chains with the long tail, run the end back through a few chains and knot it. Wrap the bracelet three times around your wrist and fasten the button through the loop to try it on; if it's too long, undo the last repeats before sewing on the button.
6. 6FinishingPut a drop of clear polish on every knot and let it dry, then trim the ends. Hand-wash the pieces in cold water and dry flat. You can use the same technique for a single-wrap bracelet or an anklet; allow one repeat for every 1 cm.
