Crochet Heart Keychain

1. 1First bumpWork in a spiral, marking the start of each round. Round 1: 6 sc in MR (6). Round 2: inc in each st (12). Round 3: *sc 1, inc* x6 (18). Rounds 4-5: 1 sc in each st (18). Cut the yarn and pull it through the last loop.
2. 2Second bumpMake a second bump exactly like the first but do not cut the yarn (18). Hold the two bumps side by side; you'll join them on the next round.
3. 3Joining roundRound 6: insert the hook into any stitch of the first bump and work 1 sc, then 1 sc in each of the remaining 17 sts of the same bump (18), then 1 sc in each of the 18 sts of the second bump (36). A small gap remains where the bumps meet; you'll close it later.
4. 4Lower part of the heartRound 7: *sc 4, dec* x6 (30). Round 8: 1 sc in each st (30). Round 9: *sc 3, dec* x6 (24). Round 10: *sc 2, dec* x6 (18). Now stuff the heart firmly, pushing fiberfill into the bumps as well. Round 11: *sc 1, dec* x6 (12). Round 12: dec x6 (6). Add a little more stuffing.
5. 5Closing and loopCut the yarn leaving 20 cm, thread it through the front loops of the last 6 sts with the tapestry needle, pull tight and bury the end inside the heart. Close the gap at the join with a few stitches using the starting tail of the first bump. Join yarn at the dip between the bumps, ch 12, pass the chain through the key ring and attach it to the same spot with sl st; wrap the chain twice to make it strong.
6. 6FinishingPass all ends through the heart and trim them. Because a keychain gets a lot of use, secure the chain loop with a few extra stitches. If you like, embroider a small highlight on the heart in a contrasting color.
