Knitted Striped Hand Scrubber with Strap

Tap a section when you finish it.

1. 1Cast onWith A, cast on 20 stitches (20 sts). The fluffy fibres hide the stitches, so count twice. Row 1 is the right side.
2. 2StripesKnit every row. The stripes are 6 rows each and the colour always changes at the start of a right-side row: Rows 1-6: A. Rows 7-12: B. Alternate A and B in this way for 11 stripes in total; the last stripe is A on rows 61-66 (20 sts). Carry the colour not in use up the edge without cutting it, catching it under the working yarn every 2 rows.
3. 3Bind offOn row 67 (RS), bind off knitwise with A. Scrubber yarn has no stretch, so don't pull the bind-off tight; the edge should keep the width it had on the needle. Cut B after the last B stripe, leaving 15 cm.
4. 4StrapWith B, cast on 6 stitches. Knit every row for 44 rows (6 sts), about 14 cm. Bind off, leaving 20 cm of yarn at each end.
5. 5Sewing on the strapLay the scrubber horizontally with the wrong side facing up. Place the strap across the middle of the scrubber, running across its width. Fix the ends of the strap 1.5 cm in from the side edges and let the middle puff up slightly: four fingers should slide easily under the strap. Sew the ends securely with the strap's own tails, passing several times through the stitches.
6. 6FinishingWeave all ends into stripes of their own colour, in two directions. Check the front: the strap stitching should not show. After use, rinse and hang the scrubber by its strap to dry.
