1. 1Before you startAll pieces are worked in spiral rounds: do not join with a slip stitch or chain up at the end of a round, just continue into the first stitch of the next round. Place a stitch marker in the first stitch of each round and move it up every round. Pull the magic ring tail firmly so the ring closes completely. The number in brackets at the end is the total stitch count for that round.

7. 7FacePin the muzzle just below the eyes, between rounds 14 and 20; start sewing it on and add a little stuffing before closing. With black yarn, work 4-5 horizontal stitches at the top of the muzzle for a triangle nose and two short lines below it for the mouth. If you skipped safety eyes for a child under 3, embroider the eyes in the same spot as small ovals with 4-5 tight stitches. Sew the ears to the upper sides of the head between rounds 5 and 8, slightly curved.
8. 8AssemblySew the open end of the body to the underside of the head, around the gathered stitches; add a bit more stuffing to the neck before closing so the head doesn't wobble. Sew the arms to the sides of the body at rounds 19-20 and the legs to the lower body between rounds 5 and 8 in a sitting position. Sew every piece securely, going back and forth through two rounds.
9. 9FinishingWeave all yarn ends into the body several times in different directions with the yarn needle and trim close to the surface. Tug the arms and legs to check they are secure. The bear can be hand washed at 30 °C; roll in a towel without wringing and dry flat.
