2. 2Eyes and stuffing the headInsert the safety eyes between rounds 11 and 12 with 7 stitches between them and lock them. For a child under 3, do not insert eyes now; embroider them with black yarn at the very end. Stuff the head firmly now; the neck is narrow, so stuffing later is difficult.
3. 3Neck and bodyFor a striped cat, change color every 2 rounds on the body; change by finishing the last stitch of the previous round with the new color. 6. 6Face embroideryWith pink yarn, embroider a small triangle nose with 3-4 horizontal stitches centered between the eyes, between rounds 13 and 14. Work the mouth below the nose as two small curves in a W shape. With black yarn, embroider 3 short whisker lines on each cheek; do not leave whiskers as loose yarn ends, babies can pull them out.
7. 7AssemblySew the ears to the top of the head between rounds 4 and 8, with about 8 stitches between them. Sew the front paws below the neck at rounds 21-22, towards the front of the body. Sew the back paws to the lower body at rounds 31-33 in a sitting position. Sew the tail to the lower back and curl it to the side, securing it to the body with a couple of stitches.
8. 8FinishingWeave all yarn ends into the body. Sit the cat down and check its balance; if it tips over, move the back paws slightly forward. Hand wash at 30 °C and dry flat.
