Crochet Scalloped Tea Glass Coasters

Instructions

Tap a section when you finish it.

1. 1Round 1Make a magic ring. Ch 2 (does not count), 12 dc into the ring, sl st to the top of the first dc (12 dc). Pull the ring tight; there should be no hole in the centre. Each round is joined with a sl st and starts with ch 2, which does not count.
2. 2Round 2Ch 2, 2 dc in each st, sl st (24 dc). Work the dc under both loops at the top of the previous stitches.
3. 3Round 3Ch 2, *1 dc, 2 dc in the next st* 12 times, sl st (36 dc).
4. 4Round 4Ch 2, *2 dc, 2 dc in the next st* 12 times, sl st (48 dc). Put the circle on the table and check it lies flat; if it ruffles, rework the last round more tightly.
5. 5Scallop roundRound 5: Without chaining, *skip 1 st, 5 dc in the next st, skip 1 st, sl st in the next st* 12 times (12 scallops). The last sl st lands in the stitch where you joined round 4. Try to keep each group of 5 dc the same height so the scallops are even.
6. 6Finishing and blockingCut the yarn leaving 15 cm and weave the ends through the dc on the back. Wet the coaster, roll it in a towel, then pin each scallop open on a flat surface and let it dry. As it is cotton, you can also press it under a damp cloth once dry. Make 4 the same way for a set.
