1. 1Working with chenilleStitches are hard to see in chenille, so place markers at the start of the round and after every 6 repeats. Wrap the magic ring twice and pull and knot the tail again at the end; chenille tends to slip open. Avoid frogging and re-crocheting too often, as the pile sheds. All pieces are worked in spiral rounds.
2. 2Head (beige)The magic ring will be the tip of the nose. 5. 5Legs (make 4) and tailLegs (beige): Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR (6) Rnd 2: (1 sc, inc) x 3 (9) Rnds 3-7: 9 sc (9) Stuff lightly, leave open with a long tail. Tail (white): Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR (6) Rnds 2-3: 6 sc (6) Flatten without stuffing and close.
6. 6AssemblyPut the woolly cap on the upper back of the head like a hat, with its front edge at round 9, and sew it on around the edge. Sew the ears just below both sides of the cap, horizontally with the tips pointing out. Sew the head to the upper front of the body with the nose pointing slightly up, matching head rounds 11-14 to body rounds 14-17, all the way around. Sew the front legs to the front of the body and the back legs to the lower sides in a sitting position; sew the tail to the back.
7. 7Face and finishingWith pink cotton yarn, embroider a small V nose just above the magic ring and a short mouth line below it. For children under 3, embroider the eyes in black cotton yarn as full ovals one round high. When weaving in chenille ends, pass the needle through at least 4-5 stitches and then turn back; chenille ends slip easily. Wash the lamb at 30 °C on a gentle cycle and dry flat.
